I am Jay, a professional guitar player who also owns a manufacturing company. In my life, I’ve had the rare opportunity of being a caretaker of over 100 vintage guitars and fell in love with the sound of the vintage S-Style. Having spent more than 35 years playing and researching the S-Style guitar, I realized I could create a better aftermarket saddle option for musicians, luthiers, and collectors.
I founded Audible Steel to make perfectly crafted music hardware products relevant to our times while honoring vintage values.
I am so sure of the sound and build quality that I guarantee the craftsmanship of each product we make.

Jay Dasgupta is a professional musician, founder of Audible Steel™ and partner at Electrical Components Manufacturers.
Jay received his Diploma in Professional Guitar from Musicians Institute in 1993, and has been playing professionally since then. He has performed at all major venues in India and several others across the world as a guitarist and vocalist. He has opened for Buddy Guy at the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai, India; and for Bobby Whitlock at Puravandara Blues Festival in Bangalore, India; and has performed live with Van Wilks, the guitar legend of Austin, TX.
For 23 years, his band was the house band at Someplace Else, Kolkata – one of India’s greatest live music venues. He was the lead guitarist and vocalist. He has also spent several years taking care of a sizable collection of vintage guitars. Through this experience, he realized the important role of high quality aftermarket guitar parts in restoring the original tone and aesthetics of a priceless vintage instrument.
As a professional guitar player with deep experience in sheet metal manufacturing, he founded Audible Steel™ to make perfectly crafted music hardware products for musicians, luthiers, and collectors. These vintage-style bent steel saddles are designed for musicians by a musician to enhance the sound and playability of all S-style guitars.
In his role at Electrical Components Manufacturers, Jay oversees product design, manufacturing and installation. He has represented his company at major industrial trade fairs in Europe and Asia, and has traveled extensively to establish business partnerships. He holds one of the first Indian patents in LED lighting.
Srirupa Dasgupta
Social Entrepreneur. Marketing & Business Strategist
Srirupa Dasgupta is a multi-sector social entrepreneur and business executive who works with organizations, executives and business leaders to increase their impact and disrupt the status quo. Sri believes that doing business means doing good.
At Audible Steel, Sri looks after business development and marketing.
Before joining Audible Steel, she founded Upohar LLC with $500 seed capital, and grew it into a for-profit social enterprise and certified B Corporation. Upohar caters large upscale events, and benefits underrepresented micro-business owners by helping them overcome market challenges.
Prior to Upohar, she served as Senior Director of Marketing at Franklin & Marshall College, where she pioneered innovation in digital strategy and built the college’s digital marketing team from the ground up.
Ujjayini Dasgupta
Finance Maven. Operations & Logistics Strategist
Ujjayini Dasgupta is an entrepreneur and an associate at Electrical Components Manufacturers. She oversees finance, investment management, operations and logistics.
She is responsible for building out the Audible Steel product line. Prior to that, she initiated and developed the solar and LED lighting product lines, playing a key role in the initial strategy and operations.
Before joining Electrical Components Manufacturers, she worked at Holtec Consulting as the liaison between foreign donor agencies and selected NGOs in target areas for executing projects in rural housing, and manufacturing/sourcing alternate building materials. She helped NGOs plan, budget and execute their projects and report back to donors with management and financial data.
She received her MBA in finance from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), Calcutta. She holds one of the first Indian patents in LED lighting.
